An estimated 5,500 children are being physically and psychologically harmed by involvement in Cambodia’s sex trade. Trafficking for labor imperils many others.

To assist girls who have been victims of sex crimes, World Vision operates a recovery center and helps reintegrate the girls with their families and communities, while working to reduce trafficking and exploitation. To strengthen the effort country-wide, World Vision partners with other organizations to work to achieve best practices in all endeavors.

CambodianGirlsSince this project was implemented by World Vision in 1997, it has served more than 850 girls ages 9 to 17 years, and has successfully restored more than 740 girls to their families or communities, or provided them with placement in long-term foster care or small group home settings.

World Vision is also working to prevent children from falling into exploitation. World Vision helps children and parents learn safety strategies and equips communities to protect and advocate for children.
